I haven’t been blogging as best I should in this post-election malaise, but I figured that I suddenly had as good a reason as any to blog:
Today, randomly enough, turns out to the birthdays of three important people I know. First and foremost, my dad turns a year older today. Second, Howard Dean turns a year older. And, as I was reading my blogs just now, I realize that our blogmaster’s son turned two today. Proud Papa Terrance’s blog post today was a very thoughtful discourse on family and love. I recommend it.
Thus, Happy Birthday Chris, Howard, and Parker (and, yes, to Martin Scorsese too).
Cousin Garrett- what of our dear Uncle Wes on Nov.17? Did he not officially become one year older on that date as well? I could be wrong though! I’m not so great with birthdates- Grandma Pat was Feb.7,1925 and Lacy William Kastner was April 9, 1896 (known only because I am his namesake thanks to Caesar & quirky coincidence). I now have your father’s committed to my calendar, but I’d love more input!
While I’m at it, I might as well ask if you’ve done any genealogical research on our common ancestry- if so, I’m quite sure yours is much more thorough and complete than mine! Who are these Green Mountain Boys of whom I have heard we share ancestry? As an exercise in external self-exploration, I’m beginning to compose an investigative delineation of my little genetic path through generations of fertilized chaos.
So aside from all that, HOW ARE YOU? HOW’S ECHODITTO.COM GOING? I heard your family was together for the first time in a year for Thanksgiving- that’s a pretty good reason to be thankful in my book!
Anyway, I must get back to work, as our first competition of the indoor season is this coming Saturday at Bucknell’s Orange & Blue Invitational. So please keep in touch and be well!
Mad Cousin Love,
Lacy Kastner Johnson
